Artist's Description

The cornerstone of this Presbyterian Church was laid on 1/1/1900 in Stephenville, TX.

Back in 1899 the Rev. John Everds led his congregation in fund raising to build this beautiful little church. It was designed by a church leader and local builder William John Wilson.

This Gothic edifice has fishscale shingles that decorate its steeple. In 1976 demolition loomed over this turn of the century church and it was moved to the Stephenville Historical House Museum grounds. With community support the church was restored.
